Oak tree logo white on dark gray Casa Dos Rios

Aster chilensis can grow anywhere from 1' tall to 5' tall, depending on the plant. It spreads rapidly by underground runners and likes full sun. I clip them down to the ground in the late winter. They are the favorite of the Common Checkered Skipper butterfly, who will congregate on them in the dozens. This photo was taken on 4/21/08.
